MotherNation Musings are a compilation of bite-size wellness escapes designed specifically for women in the beginning stages of motherhood.

We know mindfulness is beneficial to our well-being but hard part is making the time and space to practice. And it absolutely takes practice to authentically and gracefully connect with your mind, body and breath. To focus on you and forget the to-do list or what you might eat for lunch - yet forgive yourself when those thoughts do swoop in.

To help make mindfulness and wellness more accessible to you, we developed the content below specifically for you, whether you are a yoga guru, master meditator or a newbie. Each video is only about 10 minutes long so we hope you can sneak it in during naptime, between meetings or any other time you can give yourself the gift of…yourself.

Welcome to MotherNation- meditation (001)

We are so glad you are here.

We will start with some meditation…We won’t try to educate you about the benefits of meditation. (See the 20 Scientific Reasons to Start Meditating Today from Psychology Today.) Short story- it can be game changing.

This meditation is beautifully led by Keisha Ladd, an actress, certified yoga instructor, wellness coach, lover of all things outdoors, and a wanderlust foodie. But first and foremost, she is a mama to adorable baby Lilly Mae. Please enjoy.

prenatal yoga

These prenatal yoga sessions are gracefully led by expecting mama, Sarah Hummer. Sarah focuses on your core, pelvic floor and back during the first video and moves on to your legs, glutes and hips in the second video. Connect with your body and your baby while challenging yourself. No need to change your clothes (or put on a sports bra!). Just do it- and notice how you feel better after only 12 minutes.

After being diagnosed with unexplained infertility and undergoing a challenging five-year journey to pregnancy, Sarah turned to yoga to help ease stress and improve her physical and mental health. Once she became pregnant, she continued to teach and practice until the day before she went into labor. She now has a healthy and happy daughter and another baby girl on the way! She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with women to help them prepare for and achieve a healthy pregnancy and recover from pregnancy and childbirth with strength and confidence.
